PAGE 162  - MAY 23, 2004

Sunday May 23, 2004 was a special day for some true all stars of the railroad..... Tom Driscoll, Paul Torosian, John Sweeney, John "Johnny Velda" Perullo and the legendary Jack Hammill got their first taste of stardom!!!

We were invited to appear as "extras" in the production of the feature film "Johnny Slade's Greatest Hits," which was being filmed in the greater Boston area.

The cast includes one of our favorite passengers, John Fiore, former star of "Law and Order" and "The Sopranos." John plays the starring role as the infamous "Johnny Slade."

The Shamrock Inn in Malden Massachusetts was host to the filming. We were told to show up around 6am and the scenes would be shot from about 7am until noon time.

My good friend Boston LSA John "Johnny Velda" Perullo signed his waiver before stepping onto the set and into stardom.

John stands at the bar as the film crew in the back set up the camera.

Boston Train Dispatcher Paul Torosian (left) and Conductor John Sweeney (right) ham it up as the final touches are made to the set.
